Does your watch need a winder? And how many turns per day?
Any automatic (self-winding) mechanical watch benefits from a winder when it's off the wrist — it keeps the movement lubricated, the date and complications set, and the watch ready to wear. Quartz and manually-wound watches don't need one. Below is the recommended TPD (turns per day) and direction for the brands we're asked about most.
Turns Per Day — how many rotations the winder completes over 24 hours to keep the mainspring wound without over-stressing it.
Modern Rolex, Omega and most Swiss automatics are bidirectional. A few (AP, IWC) prefer clockwise. Every winder we sell is programmable.
Pick a winder with independently programmable rotors so each watch gets its correct TPD and direction. Start with a 2- or 4-piece and grow.
